Playing Style
Facing a Diabellstar deck means watching a Level 7 Spellcaster hit the board before your opponent has spent a single Normal Summon. Diabellstar the Black Witch puts herself into play by discarding any one card, then immediately Sets a Sinful Spoils Spell or Trap straight from the Deck — giving the player a free search the moment she arrives. That searched card, often Filia Diabell or Curse of Diabell, extends the board further or provides disruption, so the opening presence of a single hand card quickly escalates into a full field.
Diabellze the White Witch slots in alongside her counterpart to form the two-monster threshold the deck relies on. While two Diabell monsters are on the field simultaneously, Diabellze grants the whole board protection from opponent card effects, and her summon trigger sends another Sinful Spoils or Diabell card to the GY — fuelling the banish costs on Like the Diabell and Play the Diabell, both of which recycle monsters from the GY by removing three Spells or Traps. The deck therefore stockpiles its own GY as a resource rather than treating it as a discard pile.
Diabellstar Vengeance adds teeth to the going-first game plan. It arrives from hand or GY by banishing a Spell and a Trap, then pays half the controller's Life Points to destroy one opposing card — a deliberate, steep cost that becomes acceptable when the follow-up clause Special Summons a Tuner Synchro Monster if another Diabell is present. Curse of Diabell provides a finishing burst, wiping all face-up opposing cards when two Diabells are active, and recovering a Spell or Trap from the GY if it is ever sent from hand or Deck.
