The card the Utopia deck most wants to resolve is Number S39: Utopia the Lightning, whose ATK climbs to 5000 during damage calculation while it carries a Utopia Xyz Monster as material, and whose battle protection prevents the opponent from responding with cards or effects until the Damage Step ends. Reaching it is straightforward: Number 39: Utopia Double detaches its material to search Double or Nothing! from the deck, then immediately Xyz Summons a Rank 4 Utopia monster using itself as material, doubling that monster's ATK in the process. From there, a second overlay into Utopia the Lightning converts two Level 5 materials — or a Rank 4 Utopia upgrade — into a threat capable of ending a game in a single battle.

Getting two Level 4 monsters onto the field is the first task, and Utopic Onomatopoeia makes that considerably easier by treating itself as a Zubaba, Gagaga, Gogogo, and Dododo card simultaneously, allowing it to Special Summon up to one monster from each of those families out of the hand in a single Main Phase action. The ZW suite broadens the deck's reach beyond that one finishing play: ZW - Leo Arms searches further ZW monsters from the deck when detaching its material, ZW - Asura Strike grants the equipped Utopia monster attacks on every opposing monster, and ZW - Tornado Bringer stops the equipped monster from being targeted by card effects entirely, protecting whatever investment has been stacked onto the board.

Number 39: Utopia Double also opens a path to Number S0: Utopic ZEXAL via a discarded Rank-Up-Magic Normal Spell, producing a monster whose Xyz Summon cannot be negated and which locks out the opponent's cards and effects upon arrival — making the deck a credible going-first option in addition to its natural aggression on the second turn.
