Playing Style

The Supreme King deck typically needs only a single card to begin generating advantage: Supreme King Dragon Darkwurm. When Darkwurm is Normal or Special Summoned, it searches a Supreme King Gate Pendulum Monster, and if it sits in the graveyard with no monsters on the field, it can revive itself for free. That self-recursion makes it easy to place Supreme King Gate Zero or Supreme King Gate Infinity into the Pendulum Zone, which in turn opens up Pendulum Summons of multiple DARK Pendulum Monsters in a single turn.

The deck's endgame is getting Supreme King Z-ARC onto the field, a Level 12 Fusion that wipes the opponent's entire board on arrival, cannot be destroyed by card effects, and cannot be targeted. Assembling it legitimately requires a Fusion Dragon, a Synchro Dragon, an Xyz Dragon, and a Pendulum Dragon, but the various Supreme King trap cards offer alternate paths: Soul of the Supreme King cuts the process down to half your Life Points, while Supreme King Z-ARC - Synchro Universe takes the name of Z-ARC while on the field and can be reborn from the Pendulum Zone after destruction. Supreme Rage extends the board further by summoning up to four Supreme King Dragon monsters simultaneously once Z-ARC is already present.

The deck tends to favour a going-first approach, since landing Z-ARC immediately shuts off all Fusion, Synchro, and Xyz effects the opponent controls. Its Pendulum Zone restriction on Supreme King Gate Infinity, which prevents Pendulum Summoning while any monster is already on the field, demands careful sequencing and can punish misplays by locking the player out of their own key mechanics.
