Playing Style

The Meklord Astro archetype is a suite of boss monsters and support built to punish Synchro-heavy strategies, with each member carrying a distinct summon condition that demands a critical mass of Meklord monsters in hand, field, or Graveyard. Meklord Astro Mekanikle asks for three Meklord monsters sent directly from the hand, making it the most resource-intensive of the three dragons but rewarding that cost with the ability to equip opposing Synchro monsters and drain the opponent's life points during the Standby Phase. Meklord Astro Dragon Asterisk requires three Meklords already on the field, then converts them into raw ATK by sending them to the Graveyard on summon, while also punishing every Synchro summon the opponent makes with 1000 damage. Meklord Astro Dragon Triskelion instead operates out of the Graveyard, banishing three differently named Meklords to summon itself, then growing stronger by equipping cards directly from the opponent's Extra Deck and swinging up to three times per Battle Phase when a Synchro monster is among its equipped cards.

Meklord Astro the Eradicator ties the engine together by retrieving or immediately summoning three differently named Meklords from the Graveyard, effectively recycling the resources each boss monster consumes. Its Graveyard effect, available once a Meklord Astro monster is on the field, destroys an opposing Synchro monster and deals damage equal to its original ATK, giving the deck a removal option that simultaneously advances its damage-dealing gameplan. Because the archetype demands so many Meklord monsters available across multiple zones simultaneously, it favours a dedicated Meklord engine rather than a hybrid build, and struggles in matchups that do not rely on Synchro summoning, where its passive damage triggers simply never fire.
