Knightmare

Playing Style
The Knightmare archetype spends cards from hand to generate immediate disruption, then recoups those resources through the co-link bonus attached to almost every monster in the suite. Each Link Summoned Knightmare discards one card to activate a removal effect — Knightmare Phoenix destroys an opponent's Spell or Trap, Knightmare Cerberus destroys a Special Summoned monster, and Knightmare Unicorn shuffles any card on the field back into the Deck — and when the activating monster is co-linked at the time, the player draws a card to replace the discard. Chaining these monsters into a co-linked network therefore converts what looks like hand-depleting aggression into a roughly neutral or even positive exchange.
Knightmare Mermaid acts as the entry point, requiring only a single Knightmare monster to Link Summon and immediately searching any Knightmare from the Deck while establishing the first co-link connection for the chain that follows. Knightmare Goblin supplements the setup by granting an extra Normal Summon into its linked zone, enabling longer extension sequences. At the top end, Knightmare Gryphon recovers a Spell or Trap from the graveyard and imposes a field-wide condition that prevents Special Summoned monsters from activating their effects unless they are linked, which punishes opponents who rely on floaters or trigger effects from the Extra Monster Zone.
Knightmare Unicorn rewards a fully developed co-linked board further still, replacing the standard single draw with one draw per uniquely named co-linked Knightmare during the Draw Phase, meaning a well-constructed end board can sustain card advantage across multiple turns rather than simply exhausting itself in one sequence.
