Gimmick Puppet is one of the few archetypes in the game that can win a duel through two separate alternate victory conditions rather than reducing the opponent's Life Points to zero through combat. Number 88: Gimmick Puppet of Leo accumulates Destiny Counters over three turns to claim an automatic victory, and Number C88: Gimmick Puppet Disaster Leo ends the game outright during the End Phase if the opponent sits at 2000 Life Points or below with no materials remaining on the card. Both paths demand careful sequencing, so the deck invests heavily in assembling the right Xyz Monsters quickly and protecting them long enough to reach those trigger conditions.

The engine is built around flooding the field with Level 8 DARK Machine monsters and using them as Xyz Material. Cards like Gimmick Puppet Rouge Doll and Gimmick Puppet Fiendish Knight place bodies on the field directly from the hand, while Gimmick Puppet Scissor Arms and Gimmick Puppet Little Soldiers fill the Graveyard for later recovery through Junk Puppet or Puppet Ritual. Gimmick Puppet Chimera Doll acts as the Link spine of the strategy, searching or sending a Gimmick Puppet from the Deck and immediately extending into a hand Special Summon. From there, Gimmick Puppet Fantasix Machinix retrieves Rank-Up-Magic Spells needed to chaos-evolve into the Disaster Leo line.

Number 40: Gimmick Puppet of Strings and its upgraded form Number C40: Gimmick Puppet of Dark Strings provide a damage-based pressure route through String Counters, letting the deck threaten mass destruction and burn simultaneously. Gimmick Puppet Terror Baby and Gimmick Puppet Bisque Doll offer in-archetype protection, the former sealing off response windows during monster effect activations and the latter shielding the field from targeting, which matters considerably when the alternate victory conditions require several uninterrupted turns to resolve.
