Playing Style

Facing an Endymion deck, an opponent quickly discovers that almost every action they take risks feeding the engine that will eventually answer them. The deck accumulates Spell Counters across Magical Citadel of Endymion, Endymion's Lab, and its Pendulum monsters each time any Spell resolves, then cashes those counters in to summon powerful Spellcasters and fuel disruption. Spell Power Mastery tutors any Endymion card from the Deck while adding counters at the same time, Servant of Endymion and Magister of Endymion populate the Pendulum Zones and replace themselves when destroyed, and Reflection of Endymion bounces opponent cards while preserving counter counts when it enters the field.

The deck's most dangerous resident is Endymion, the Mighty Master of Magic, which negates Spell and Trap activations as a Quick Effect by returning a counter-bearing card to hand, replenishes those counters immediately, and then sits behind protection from targeting and destruction as long as it carries even one counter. Rogue of Endymion slots in Continuous Spells directly from the Deck, and the newer Regulus, the Prince of Endymion line adds Verre and the Endymion Empire continuous card to extend resources further.

Going first suits the deck best, since establishing Mighty Master alongside a loaded Citadel forces opponents to out a threat that actively recycles negation. Where counter accumulation stalls — for instance against heavy non-Spell removal that bypasses Mighty Master's Quick Effect — the deck can struggle to rebuild mid-game, as its recovery relies on the same counter infrastructure it just spent.
