D/D/D

D/D/D is a Pendulum-heavy combo archetype that can generate a full board from surprisingly few cards. Many of its best openings require only two pieces: a Pendulum Monster to set the scale and a way to reach D/D/D Abyss King Gilgamesh, the Link-2 that places two D/D Pendulum Monsters from the Deck directly into the Pendulum Zones on summon. From there the deck Pendulum Summons multiple monsters at once, chains their on-field triggers, and builds into a layered endboard of Synchro, Fusion, and Xyz monsters before the opponent has a chance to respond.

The Extra Deck lineup does most of the heavy lifting. D/D/D Flame King Genghis and its upgraded form D/D/D Flame High King Genghis recycle monsters from the Graveyard whenever another D/D is summoned, keeping the chain of bodies going. D/D/D Cursed King Siegfried blankets the opponent's Spell and Trap Cards with negation, while D/D/D Duo-Dawn King Kali Yuga locks the entire field on the turn it is Xyz Summoned, preventing any response to the plays being established. D/D/D Super Doom King Bright Armageddon adds persistent protection by stopping the opponent from targeting the player's monsters with card effects.

The archetype's main liability is self-inflicted damage. Dark Contract cards, which supply the search power and resource recovery that hold the engine together, drain the controller's LP every Standby Phase. Cards like D/D/D Oracle King d'Arc and D/D/D Rebel King Leonidas exist specifically to convert that damage into LP gain, and managing the Contract penalties while executing long combo sequences demands careful ordering of effects each turn.
