Zefra

Playing Style

Zefra builds its engine around a stocked Extra Deck, using Zefraath in the Pendulum Zone to shift its own Scale and load Zefra Pendulum Monsters from the Deck into the Extra Deck face-up. Zefra Providence and Oracle of Zefra accelerate this process, with Providence searching any Zefra card from the Deck and Oracle adding a Zefra monster on activation. Once enough monsters accumulate face-up in the Extra Deck, Zefraath can be Special Summoned from there by Tributing at least three Zefra monsters, after which it grants an additional Pendulum Summon and can pull further Zefra monsters directly from the Deck each turn.

The deck's payoff scales sharply with how full that Extra Deck becomes. Chosen of Zefra rewards depth of accumulation — eight or more face-up Zefra names grant targeting immunity, and reaching all ten triggers a complete reset of the opponent's hand, field, and Graveyard. Zefra Divine Strike draws on those same face-up Extra Deck monsters as a cost, banishing one to negate and destroy an opponent's card, meaning the deck's setup doubles as counter-trap fuel.

Going first suits the archetype well, since establishing Zefraath, Zefra Path, and Chosen of Zefra creates a layered field that restricts Special Summoning to hand or Extra Deck, negates key activations, and protects the monsters already out. Zefra War offers additional disruption, and it can be activated directly from the hand when both Pendulum Zones are occupied, letting the deck apply pressure without opening itself to spell and trap removal during the setup phase.
