Witchcrafter

Witchcrafter is a slow-building, resource-positive archetype that asks for just a single monster and a Spell before it begins to snowball. The core loop is straightforward: nearly every Spell in the deck returns to the hand during the End Phase as long as a Witchcrafter monster is on the field, meaning the same Spells are spent and recovered repeatedly across multiple turns. This recycling engine makes the deck extraordinarily difficult to grind out of resources. Witchcrafter Haine and Witchcrafter Madame Verre anchor the high-end board — Haine protects the rest of the field from targeting while threatening to destroy any face-up card the opponent controls, and Verre can negate all opponent monster effects for a turn at the cost of one Spell discard, a cost the archetype trivially recovers.

Getting those heavyweights onto the field relies on the lower-level monsters acting as expendable stepping stones. Witchcrafter Pittore, Potterie, Schmietta, and Genni each tribute themselves during the Main Phase to pull any Witchcrafter from the Deck, meaning a single low-level Normal Summon can chain into the boss monsters within the same turn. Witchcrafter Walpurgis supplements this by searching the hand while simultaneously sending Spells to the GY, seeding the recovery loop immediately.

The Fusion monsters added later in the archetype's development give the deck genuine explosive potential. Witchcrafter Madame Rilliona can flood the field with up to three monsters of different Attributes on the turn she is summoned, and Witchcrafter Pupils applies Spell effects directly from the hand without activation, sidestepping interception. The archetype's measured pace makes it vulnerable to aggressive early pressure before the recovery loop is established, but once a Witchcrafter monster survives to the End Phase, the deck's self-perpetuating spell supply makes dismantling it a sustained effort rather than a single exchange.
