Ursarctic runs on a hand-based summoning loop where every monster in the archetype tributes another Level 7 or higher monster directly from the hand to Special Summon itself. The Level 7 trio of Ursarctic Mikpolar, Mikbilis, and Miktanus each trigger a follow-up effect on arrival — Mikpolar searches any Ursarctic monster from the Deck, Mikbilis Special Summons another Ursarctic from the hand, and Miktanus recovers one from the Graveyard — which means a single opening monster can rapidly chain into a full hand of high-Level bodies. Ursarctic Departure accelerates this further by discarding one card to search two Ursarctic monsters at once, while Ursarctic Big Dipper reduces the tribute cost by banishing from the Graveyard instead, keeping momentum going without draining the hand dry.

Those accumulated bodies feed into the Extra Deck Synchro monsters, which require sending two monsters with a specific Level difference rather than a conventional Synchro Summon. Ursarctic Septentrion persistently negates the effects of Extra Deck monsters without a Level, putting blanket pressure on Xyz and Link strategies, while Ursarctic Grand Chariot destroys up to two cards on arrival and can tribute a hand monster to negate targeted removal. Ursarctic Polar Star bridges the two by enabling the summon of a Level 7 Synchro Monster that prevents opponents from activating the effects of Levelled Extra Deck monsters.

The deck favours going first, building a board that actively punishes opponents who rely on monsters lacking Levels. Ultimate Flagship Ursatron, accessible through Ursarctic Drytron, adds further reach by searching Ursarctic or Drytron monsters each time another Effect Monster is Special Summoned, and Ursarctic Big Dipper can steal an opponent's monster outright once seven summon counters accumulate, giving the deck a threatening mid-game payoff once the board is established.
