Playing Style

Toy is a deck that needs very little to get moving. A single copy of either Toy Soldier or Toy Tank in the opening hand is enough to begin, since both monsters can be Set directly from the hand into the Spell & Trap Zone as Spells, acting as concealed resources that spring back onto the field as Special Summons the moment they are sent to the graveyard. Toy Soldier then searches Toy Box on arrival, and once that Continuous Spell is established, the two Toy monsters begin feeding each other: Toy Box can Set up to two Toy-named monsters from the hand, deck, Monster Zone, or graveyard directly into the Spell & Trap Zone, reloading the cycle repeatedly. Toy Tank extends the board further by Tributing itself to Special Summon any Level 6 or lower monster from the hand, or, with Toy Box live, from the graveyard.

The deck's going-first game is built around baiting out responses rather than stacking negations. Toy Box doubles as a defensive tool, destroying any attacking monster by sending a face-down card from the field to the graveyard, which conveniently triggers whichever Toy is sitting Set in the Spell & Trap Zone. The Black Goat Laughs supplements this posture by locking out Special Summons of a named monster for a turn, then threatening from the graveyard to silence the effects of monsters already on the field, giving the deck a two-stage disruption package that punishes opponents who commit heavily to a single engine piece.
