Therion

Therion is a set of large Level 7 and 8 monsters that each Special Summon themselves from the hand by equipping a same-Type or fellow Therion monster from the Graveyard beneath them. Because each monster carries both a self-summoning clause and a battle-relevant effect shared with whatever it has equipped, the archetype stacks its power by layering these creatures on top of one another across successive turns. Therion "Lily" Borea searches Therion Spell and Trap Cards by discarding from hand or field, and Therion Discolosseum adds a Therion monster from Deck on activation while also sending cards to the Graveyard to protect against battle destruction — both pieces feed the Graveyard that every other member depends on. Therion "King" Regulus provides a Quick Effect negation by sending a Therion monster from hand or field to the Graveyard, and Therion "Duke" Yul grants destruction immunity to the whole board while an Equip Card is present, making an established field genuinely difficult to break through.

The archetype naturally favours going first, setting up a Graveyard-stocked board with Regulus and Yul active and Therion Cross set to negate and banish threatening monster effects. Therion "Bull" Ain offers targeted destruction on either player's monster or backrow, and Therion "Reaper" Fum can bounce an opponent's card alongside a Therion card in the Spell and Trap Zone during the opponent's turn, giving the deck disruptive reach it can threaten even without going first. Therion Irregular acts as a recovery engine, equipping up to three Graveyard monsters at once and clearing the opponent's entire field by discarding Endless Engine Argyro System, rewarding decks that pair Therion with that engine to access its more explosive payoffs.
