The card Swordsoul wants to resolve most is Swordsoul Grandmaster - Chixiao. When Synchro Summoned, Chixiao searches or banishes any Swordsoul card from the Deck, extending the hand while simultaneously setting up its Quick Effect negation, which banishes a Swordsoul card or Wyrm monster from hand or GY to shut down an opposing effect monster for the turn. Getting Chixiao onto the field is straightforward: both Swordsoul of Mo Ye and Swordsoul Strategist Longyuan generate a Level 4 Wyrm Tuner Token on summon, meaning either one immediately creates a pair of Level 4 Wyrm bodies that combine into the Level 8 Synchro. Mo Ye additionally draws a card when used as Synchro Material, while Longyuan self-Special Summons from hand by discarding any other Swordsoul card or Wyrm monster, giving the deck redundancy across multiple openers.

The broader game plan is to layer banish-fuelled pressure through the Synchro ladder. Swordsoul Supreme Sovereign - Chengying scales in ATK while draining opposing monsters of the same, and strips cards from both the opponent's field and GY whenever anything is banished, which the deck triggers constantly. Swordsoul Sinister Sovereign - Qixing Longyuan banishes monsters as they are Special Summoned and nullifies Spell and Trap activations outright, both effects dealing 1200 damage as a side consequence. Swordsoul Punishment and Swordsoul Strife feed the GY and sustain banish chains across turns, and banished copies of the trap cards can generate fresh Tokens to enable further Synchro plays. The result is a going-first deck that wants to establish Chixiao's negation backed by Chengying's passive attrition, gradually dismantling the opponent's resources until their field and GY are exhausted.
