Playing Style

Super Quant is a deck that needs remarkably few cards before it starts doing something meaningful. Super Quantum Red Layer can Special Summon itself from the hand when you control no monsters, and Super Quantum Blue Layer searches any Super Quant card on summon, meaning a single copy of either is often enough to begin a chain of plays. Green Layer extends further by Special Summoning a Super Quant monster directly from the hand when it hits the field, letting the deck pile up multiple bodies quickly and convert them into Xyz Monsters whose Ranks match the Layers that made them.

The actual path to victory runs through Super Quantal Mech King Great Magnus, a Rank 12 Xyz Monster that requires three Level 12 materials but is reached in practice by sending three Super Quantal Mech Beast Xyz Monsters — Grampulse, Aeroboros, Magnaliger, or Lusterrex — into Super Quantal Mech Ship Magnacarrier's second effect. With six differently named materials attached, Great Magnus makes it impossible for the opponent to search their deck by card effect, and with four it becomes immune to non-Super Quant effects entirely. The Mech Beasts that feed into it are not mere stepping stones; Magnaliger destroys monsters as a Quick Effect when Red Layer is attached, and Grampulse removes Spells and Traps on either player's turn.

Neo Super Quantal Mech King Blaster Magna underpins the engine as a Link-3 that draws a card each time a differently named Super Quant Xyz Monster is placed into a zone it points to, turning the deck's natural tendency to swarm the field with successive Xyz Summons into persistent card advantage.
