Sunvine

Sunvine is a remarkably low-investment strategy: a single Plant Normal Monster is all the deck needs to begin its opening sequence. That one monster becomes the material for a Link-1 Sunvine extender — Sunvine Thrasher, Healer, or Gardna depending on what the board demands — which then feeds into the Sunavalon tree of Link Monsters that the archetype uses to build a persistent, layered defence. Sunvine Shrine accelerates this by recycling Level 4 or lower Plant Normal Monsters from the graveyard once per turn, ensuring the deck rarely runs out of bodies to extend with. Sunvine Sowing reaches into the deck for a Sunseed monster at the cost of 1000 LP and a restriction to Plant Extra Deck Summons, letting the engine spin up even without a normal opening hand.
The deck's going-first gameplan prioritises establishing a Sunavalon Link Monster backed by multiple Sunvine Link-1s in linked zones. Sunvine Gardna halves battle damage when linked to a Sunavalon monster and ends the Battle Phase outright when destroyed by battle, turning the board into a frustrating wall. Sunvine Maiden adds a layer of disruption to that defence, negating targeting effects aimed at Sunavalon or Sunvine Spells and Traps whenever the opponent tries to dismantle the established board. Because so many of the deck's effects are conditional on a Sunavalon monster being present, losing that central piece mid-game to a non-targeting removal effect can collapse the entire structure at once.
