Playing Style
The hand is the engine room of Starry Knight. Rather than building a conventional board, the deck constantly cycles Level 7 LIGHT Dragon monsters — most commonly the White Dragon Wyverburster and Black Dragon Collapserpent package, or dedicated Dragons such as those in the Blue-Eyes or Chaos families — between the hand and the field, spending and recovering them as a resource to trigger effects. Starry Knight Sky rewards every return with a draw, turning each bounce into fresh cards, while Starry Knight Ceremony searches a Dragon from the Deck in exchange for recycling a Fairy. Starry Knight Blast and Starry Knight Ceremony both threaten to put a Dragon on the field the moment an opponent activates an effect, meaning the disruption the deck presents is directly tied to how many Dragons sit in hand at any given moment.
The Fairy members handle deployment and recovery on both sides of the turn. Starry Knight Rayel searches a Spell or Trap on Normal Summon, establishing the backrow immediately. Starry Knight Astel and Starry Knight Ciel provide hand-speed Special Summons that place a Dragon on board without spending the Normal Summon, and both carry graveyard effects — Astel boosting ATK, Ciel reviving a Dragon from hand — activated by banishing themselves. Starry Knight Flamel adds a defensive layer, intercepting an attack to Special Summon a Dragon mid-battle, and can then retrieve that Dragon from the graveyard or field on a subsequent turn. Orbitael recovers itself whenever a Dragon bounces back to the hand, keeping the field replenished without additional card investment.
