Solemn

Playing Style
The Solemn cards are not an archetype built to execute a proactive strategy of their own — they are a suite of Counter Traps and continuous backrow that slot into other decks as disruption tools. Each card requires at least one turn of setting before it can be used, meaning the Solemn package contributes nothing on the turn it arrives; the deck or engine running alongside it must be capable of surviving that delay.
The core of the lineup consists of Solemn Judgment, Solemn Warning, Solemn Strike, and Solemn Scolding, all of which negate and destroy at the cost of Life Points. Solemn Judgment covers the broadest ground, stopping any Summon or Spell/Trap activation for half the controller's LP. Solemn Strike narrows its scope to Special Summons and monster effects, while Solemn Warning adds coverage for effects that Special Summon as part of their resolution. Solemn Scolding demands that it be the only Set card in the Spell and Trap Zone — a severe restriction that limits how freely it can be combined with the others, but its blanket negation of monster effects makes it valuable when that isolation can be guaranteed.
Solemn Accusation introduces an unusual condition of its own, requiring another face-down Trap to be revealed on activation, which creates a small tension with Scolding's lone-set requirement. Solemn Wishes partially offsets the cumulative LP damage from repeated negations, recovering 500 LP per draw to extend the window in which the heavier costs remain affordable. Solemn Authority is the outlier, a support piece for Aesir monsters rather than a universal negation tool.
