Regenesis

Playing Style

What separates Regenesis from most monster-heavy strategies is that its smaller pieces are designed to be spent rather than preserved. Regenesis Warrior and Regenesis Dragon each carry a Quick Effect that Tributes themselves to bounce or banish a single opposing card, and both recover to the hand at the opponent's End Phase if sent to the GY that same turn. This self-replacing behaviour means the deck can throw disruption at the opponent without permanently losing resources, provided the timing lines up correctly.

The central pivot is the 2500 ATK/DEF threshold that runs through nearly every card in the archetype. Regenesis Dragon and Regenesis Sage can drop from the hand the moment any 2500-stat monster is present, while Regenesis Lord demands a face-up monster with exactly 2500 in both values to banish as its Summon cost. The Normal Spell Regenesis tutors that enabling monster directly if a Regenesis monster is already on the field, and its GY effect can revive a spent piece once a turn delay has passed. Regenesis Code extends this further by pulling any Regenesis monster straight from the Deck, though at the cost of locking the player out of the Extra Deck until the following turn.

Regenesis Overlord rewards a deep GY and an accumulating banished zone — it Summons itself by banishing two 2500-stat monsters already in the GY, then bounces opposing cards equal to the number of banished monsters with that threshold, which scales meaningfully as the game progresses. Regenesis Birth adds a further dimension during the opponent's turn, flooding the field temporarily with every available Regenesis monster before they return to the GY at the End Phase, generating a wall of stats that pressures the opponent into difficult combat decisions.
