Playing Style
Qli needs very little to begin generating advantage. A single Qliphort Scout sitting in the Pendulum Zone pays 800 Life Points each turn to search any Qli card from the deck, and once a second Pendulum Monster occupies the opposite scale, the deck can flood the field with multiple monsters in a single Main Phase. Laser Qlip extends that further by granting an additional Normal Summon for Qli monsters each turn, meaning the deck can set up Tribute fodder and execute a Tribute Summon on the same turn without straining its resources.
The strategy is built around putting an Apoqliphort monster onto the field and keeping it there. Apoqliphort Towers, the deck's centrepiece threat, requires three Qli Tributes and cannot be Special Summoned, but once it lands it is immune to Spell and Trap effects and to the activated effects of any monster with a lower Level or Rank than its own Level 10, which in practice covers nearly every monster an opponent can field. Saqlifice accelerates this process by letting the equipped monster count as two Tributes, while Qlife's End can Special Summon itself and then immediately count as three Tributes for an Apoqliphort, compressing what would otherwise be a multi-turn setup into a single turn.
Because Pendulum Monsters return to the Extra Deck rather than the Graveyard when destroyed, the deck recovers its scales quickly, and Qlimate Change can pull up to three of them back to hand in one activation. Re-qliate pressures the opponent's board by negating the effects of monsters they Normal or Special Summon, making it difficult to answer Towers through conventional gameplay once it has resolved.
