Ogdoabyss, the Ogdoadic Overlord is the card the deck is built to resolve. Its Quick Effect sends every monster on the field to the graveyard except those that were Special Summoned from the graveyard, effectively clearing the opponent's board while leaving the Ogdoadic monsters standing — since almost everything in the archetype either arrives from or cycles back through the graveyard. Getting Ogdoabyss onto the field requires tributing three monsters, so the deck spends its early turns accumulating bodies and stacking the graveyard with named Reptiles.

Nauya and Nunu are the engine's starting points. Nauya discards itself to send a LIGHT Reptile from the Deck to the graveyard, while Nunu does the same for DARK Reptiles; both then search an Ogdoadic Spell or Trap on summon, pointing toward Ogdoadic Water Lily, Serpent Strike, or Daybreak as follow-up. Water Lily continues the graveyard stacking and can immediately revive a Reptile if five differently named ones are already present. Keurse and Aleirtt self-revive by tributing one monster apiece, Aron and Amunessia by tributing two, and each revival trigger effects that punish the opponent — Aron strips a random card from their hand whenever they add cards outside the Draw Phase, and Amunessia sends a card they control to the graveyard whenever they special summon from their own graveyard.

Ogdoadic Calling rewards depth of graveyard over speed, producing two free Reptile revivals once eight differently named Ogdoadic monsters are present. Because so much of the deck's power sits below the field rather than on it, disrupting the initial summons of Nauya or Nunu before the graveyard is established remains the most effective way to slow the strategy down.
