Ninja

Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo is the axis around which the deck's opening turns rotate. His Normal Summon searches any Ninjitsu Art card from the Deck, while his Flip or Special Summon instead fetches a Ninja monster, meaning nearly every way of interacting with him generates a fresh resource. Kagero the Cannon Ninja extends that momentum by Special Summoning another Ninja from the hand or Graveyard face-down when he himself arrives on the field, simultaneously setting up follow-up searches through Hanzo and populating the board with face-down monsters that other pieces can exploit. Tobari the Sky Ninja adds another layer of flexibility, sending itself from the hand to drop a Ninja into face-up or face-down Defence Position, then threatening a Fusion Summon directly from hand or field during the opponent's Main or Battle Phase as a disruption tool.

The face-down mechanic runs through much of the deck's behaviour. Senior Silver Ninja on a flip deploys multiple Ninjas from the hand and Graveyard face-down, Kagero's Graveyard Quick Effect intercepts targeting by Special Summoning himself face-down and returning the targeted card to the hand, and Mitsu the Insect Ninja can flip a face-down Ninja to negate a monster effect on the spot. This creates a layered defence that grows more stubborn the more monsters the deck accumulates.

At the higher end of the curve, Black Dragon Ninja provides spot removal by discarding a Ninja and a Ninjitsu Art to banish any monster on the field, and Red Dragon Ninja scouts and disrupts the opponent's back row on summon. Blue Dragon Ninja trades the same discard cost for a turn-long effect negation and attack lock, giving the deck meaningful interaction options that do not depend solely on combat.
