Nekroz

Facing a Nekroz player often means watching hand after hand get refilled while every Extra Deck monster on your side of the field is quietly dismantled before it can act. The deck summons its Ritual Monsters without ever touching the Extra Deck itself, instead tributing monsters from hand or using banished Nekroz monsters as fodder through Nekroz Mirror, Nekroz Kaleidoscope, and Nekroz Cycle. Nekroz of Brionac and Nekroz of Clausolas are almost never intended to hit the field — discarding Brionac searches any Nekroz monster from the deck, while discarding Clausolas fetches any Nekroz Spell, creating a chain of searches that lets the deck assemble its key pieces with remarkable consistency. Nekroz of Unicore passively negates every face-up Extra Deck monster's effects the moment it is Ritual Summoned, and Nekroz of Catastor destroys any opponent's Extra Deck monster it battles before damage is even calculated.

The non-Ritual members of the archetype exist almost entirely to be tributed, and their tribute effects keep the engine moving. Shurit, Strategist of the Nekroz can satisfy the entire tribute requirement for any Warrior Ritual Monster on its own, then searches another Warrior Ritual upon being tributed. Emilia, Dance Priestess of the Nekroz searches a Ritual Monster or Nekroz Spell on summon, and can Special Summon itself from hand whenever a Warrior Nekroz is present. Nekroz of Trishula puts the most immediate pressure on an opponent when successfully Ritual Summoned, banishing one card each from their hand, field, and graveyard simultaneously — a disruption that is extremely difficult to recover from at full card advantage.
