Mulcharmy

Playing Style

The Mulcharmy archetype demands almost nothing to get started — a single card discarded from the hand is enough to begin generating advantage. Each of the three members activates as a Quick Effect the moment you control no cards, covering a different summon vector: Fuwalos triggers whenever the opponent Special Summons from the Deck or Extra Deck, Purulia triggers on Normal or Special Summons from the hand, and Meowls triggers on revivals from the GY or banishment. Because the conditions overlap broadly with standard combo play, a single well-timed discard can chain into multiple draws across one opponent's turn.

The archetype is almost exclusively a going-second or handtrap-style tool rather than a dedicated deck strategy in its own right. Players typically run two or three members across different deck types, activating whichever one best matches the opponent's expected summon pattern. The restriction preventing more than one other Mulcharmy effect from being used in the same turn means the full trio cannot be chained together freely, so choosing the right member for a given matchup is genuinely meaningful.

The hand-size ceiling — capped at the opponent's board count plus six at the End Phase — imposes a soft limit on how much advantage can be banked, though in practice reaching that ceiling signals the opponent has already extended aggressively enough that the drawn cards should be more than sufficient to mount a response.
