Mitsurugi

Mitsurugi is a Ritual-based archetype whose main deck monsters divide cleanly between small searchers and the large Ritual monsters they exist to put on the field. The three Level 4 Reptiles — Aramasa, Kusanagi, and Saji — each trigger a search on summon or when Tributed: Aramasa fetches any Mitsurugi monster, Kusanagi recovers any Mitsurugi card from the GY or banishment, and Saji adds a Mitsurugi Spell or Trap. This means normal summoning any one of them immediately stocks the hand with the pieces needed to push into a Ritual summon the same turn. Mitsurugi Ritual enables direct Deck-to-field Ritual summons by sending Reptiles from hand, field, or Deck as Tribute material, and Mitsurugi Magatama offers a Quick-Play route to Ritual Summon during either Main Phase. Because Tributing is part of the archetype's ordinary rhythm rather than a cost to avoid, all three Level 4s carry a shared ability to redirect destruction targeting other Reptiles onto themselves, letting them generate their search effect one more time on the way out.

The three Ritual monsters each bring disruptive pressure of a different kind. Ame no Murakumo destroys the opponent's entire monster field on Special Summon and forces a discard to save any subsequent effect from negation. Ame no Habakiri weakens every opposing monster by 800 ATK and can reveal itself from hand to Special Summon another Mitsurugi before Tributing it, making it both an extender and a searcher simultaneously. Futsu no Mitama punishes the opponent for Special Summoning by reviving a Reptile from the GY, rewarding the player for maintaining graveyard presence. All three return themselves to the field and search when Tributed, ensuring that sacrifice effects — whether from Mitsurugi Magatama, Great Purification, or Mitsurugi Tempest — never simply remove the Rituals from play. Mitsurugi Tempest represents the archetype's most extreme payoff, banishing exactly eight cards across the opponent's hand, field, GY, and Extra Deck at the cost of all three Ritual monsters at once.
