Metaphys

Metaphys is a LIGHT Wyrm archetype that advances its game plan through a self-sustaining cycle of banishing and returning cards. The main deck monsters each carry a triggered effect when banished: Metaphys Nephthys searches any Metaphys card from the deck during the following Standby Phase, Metaphys Daedalus clears all other Special Summoned monsters from the field, and Metaphys Tyrant Dragon Special Summons a Metaphys monster from the hand. Metaphys Ragnarok is the primary Normal Summon of the deck, banishing the top three cards of the deck on summon to potentially hit multiple Metaphys names at once, and can Special Summon a Level 5 or higher Metaphys directly from the deck when it deals battle damage. This creates a chain of recurring threats that is difficult to exhaust through attrition.

The spell and trap suite keeps this engine moving. Asymmetaphys discards a Metaphys card to draw, and then applies a field-wide debuff or mass position change depending on the turn, while Metaphys Factor allows high-level Metaphys monsters to be Normal Summoned without tribute. Metaphys Dimension punishes the opponent for Special Summoning by recycling a banished Metaphys monster onto the field, and its second effect can banish an opponent's card outright whenever another Metaphys card leaves its owner's possession while the trap is already active. Metaphys Ascension provides additional discard-for-draw filtering and can fetch a Metaphys card from deck when it is itself banished.

The deck naturally accumulates five differently named Metaphys cards in the banished zone over time, eventually enabling Metaphys Executor, which cannot be destroyed or banished by card effects and continues returning banished Metaphys monsters as long as the opponent maintains a card advantage over the player.
