Mayakashi

Mayakashi storms out of the gate on the back of a tight main-deck engine. Hajun, the Winged Mayakashi is the spark: the moment it hits the field, it recruits any other Mayakashi from the deck, most naturally Yuki-Musume, the Ice Mayakashi, which then special summons itself from the hand or graveyard and sends an additional Zombie to the graveyard as it arrives. That pair of bodies feeds into Yuki-Onna, the Ice Mayakashi, the Link-2 that points into the Extra Monster Zone and allows the real Synchro climbing to begin. From there the deck ascends a rigid ladder — Oboro-Guruma at Level 3, Tsuchigumo at 5, Tengu at 7, Yoko at 9, Gashadokuro at 11 — each step using the previous Synchro and Dakki, the Graceful Mayakashi, which returns from the graveyard every time a Mayakashi hits the field from the Extra Deck.

The threat that actually closes games is the resurrection chain embedded in those Synchro monsters. Each one revives itself from the graveyard when the piece one step above it in the ladder is destroyed, banishing a Zombie to pay the cost and triggering its own bonus effect on arrival — Tengu destroying a Spell or Trap, Yoko eliminating a monster. Yuki-Onna, the Icicle Mayakashi accelerates re-entry by banishing itself to pull any Zombie Synchro back from the graveyard or banishment, while Mayakashi Mayhem generates card advantage each time that resurrection loop fires.

Mayakashi Return and Mayakashi Winter give the deck its consistency layer, the former fetching or milling any Mayakashi card and the latter offering a second route to reviving a monster from the graveyard while also gradually draining every opposing monster's stats as the graveyard fills with differently-named members. Because the entire gameplan depends on a graveyard steadily stocked with Zombie names, early graveyard disruption — particularly cards that banish without triggering the Synchros' own revival conditions — can interrupt the loop before the ladder has fully climbed.
