Horus the Black Flame Dragon is a Level-up archetype built on a chain of escalating Special Summons, with each monster in the line serving as the vehicle that fetches the next. Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV4 starts the process: if it destroys a monster by battle during a turn, its controller can send it to the Graveyard at the End Phase to Special Summon Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV6 directly from the hand or Deck. LV6 repeats the same condition to bring out Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV8, the endpoint the whole strategy is designed to reach. LV8 cannot be summoned by any other means, so the deck is committed to climbing the chain through combat rather than shortcuts.
Once LV8 is on the field, it can negate and destroy any Spell Card activated during either player's turn, making it a persistent, reactive threat that punishes Spell-heavy opponents simply by existing. LV6 is already immune to Spell effects before that point, so the climb from LV4 onward becomes progressively harder for the opponent to interrupt through that card type. Horus' Servant reinforces the endgame by stripping the opponent of the ability to target any face-up Horus monster with Spells, Traps, or card effects entirely, layering protection on top of the inherent resistances the dragons already carry.
Because the strategy depends on destroying monsters by battle across consecutive turns, the deck favours a tempo-oriented going-first posture, establishing LV4 or LV6 early and using combat to climb before the opponent can mount a response that bypasses the Spell negation outright, since trap-based removal and effect-based destruction remain viable answers at the LV6 stage.
