Heraldry aims to end its turn with Number 69: Heraldry Crest - Shatter Stream sitting on the field, ready to intercept whatever the opponent attempts. Shatter Stream responds to either a monster effect activation or a declared attack by immediately Xyz Summoning Number 69: Heraldry Crest - Dark Matter Demolition from the Extra Deck and destroying the offending monster in the same motion. Dark Matter Demolition then holds the board through sheer resilience — it cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects — while its Quick Effect renames any remaining threat to "Unknown" and negates any effect that named monster tries to activate. The result is a reactive, defence-oriented gameplan that tightens the opponent's options each turn rather than pressing for a fast kill.
Getting Shatter Stream onto the field requires Number 69: Heraldry Crest first, which in turn demands three Level 4 monsters. The deck therefore needs consistent access to multiple Level 4 bodies, and Shatter Stream's alternate summoning condition — stacking directly on top of an existing Heraldry Crest — means any line that produces Crest naturally feeds straight into the full board. Flash of Heraldry supplements the disruption package by pre-emptively labelling opponent monsters as Unknown before Shatter Stream even needs to act, and it recycles itself from the graveyard at the End Phase as long as a Psychic Xyz Monster is present. Heraldry Record rounds out the defensive shell by negating Xyz Monster effects that detach materials, punishing many of the format's most common Extra Deck engines on the spot.
