Everything in Gusto converges on Daigusto Sphreez. Once that Level 6 Synchro is on the field, any battle damage the Gusto player would take is instead redirected to the opponent, and because Sphreez cannot be destroyed by battle, the archetype's many low-ATK monsters become a liability for the other side of the table rather than a problem for its own. The deck reaches Sphreez by stacking Synchro Summons off a chain of replacement effects: Gusto Egul Special Summons a non-Tuner when destroyed by battle, Winda, Priestess of Gusto fetches a Tuner when beaten in combat, and Gusto Gulldo pulls a Level 2 or lower monster from the Deck whenever it leaves the field. Each clash in the Battle Phase can generate a new body, feeding directly into the next Synchro Summon.

Pilica, Descendant of Gusto accelerates this considerably by reviving a WIND Tuner straight from the Graveyard on summon, while Gusto Griffin puts a Gusto monster onto the field simply by being discarded from the hand. Daigusto Laplampilica extends the Synchro ladder further, Special Summoning two Gusto monsters on its arrival and immediately using them to climb into a higher Synchro. Daigusto Gulldos handles removal by shuffling two Graveyard monsters back into the Deck to destroy a face-up opponent's monster, and Caam, Serenity of Gusto converts that same recycling loop into draw power, ensuring the deck rarely runs dry across a long game.
