Playing Style
Gorgonic is a Rank 3 Xyz deck that needs remarkably few pieces before it starts doing something dangerous. A single Normal Summon of any Rock-Type monster triggers Gorgonic Gargoyle, which Special Summons itself from the hand immediately, putting two Level 3 bodies on the field and opening a direct path to Gorgonic Guardian on the first turn. Gorgonic Cerberus smooths out any Level mismatches by converting all friendly Rock-Types to Level 3 on Normal Summon, ensuring the Xyz Summon stays accessible even when mixing in non-Level 3 support.
The deck's real threat is Gorgonic Guardian itself. Its two effects form a tight loop: once per turn it can drop an opposing monster's ATK to zero and strip its effects, then a second effect destroys any monster on the field currently sitting at zero ATK. Used together, Guardian dismantles an opponent's board piece by piece across multiple turns, and because the first effect can be used during either player's turn, it pressures the opponent during their own Battle Phase as well. Gorgonic Golem adds a punishing layer to combat by reducing the attacking monster's ATK to zero upon being destroyed by battle, making it a credible deterrent that feeds directly into Guardian's second effect.
Gorgonic Ghoul offers limited self-replication by paying 300 LP to Special Summon a second copy of itself, though the effect requires one already on the field first. Gorgonic Umbral Horror broadens the engine for decks willing to mix in the Umbral Horror suite, counting as two Xyz materials for Number monsters that require three or more, which can accelerate into higher-Rank plays well beyond what the core Gorgonic lineup supports alone.
