Playing Style

The Gogogo archetype is built to put Number 55: Gogogo Goliath onto the field and keep it there. Goliath grants all monsters you control an additional 800 DEF and can detach a material to recover any Level 4 EARTH Rock monster from the Graveyard, letting the deck recycle its own pieces turn after turn. Getting two Level 4 bodies onto the field is the central puzzle the deck solves through its recursion tools: Gogogo Giant Special Summons a Gogogo monster directly from the Graveyard when Normal Summoned, while Gogogo Ghost pulls up a Gogogo Golem whenever it is Special Summoned, immediately providing the two materials Goliath needs.

The deck's posture is predominantly defensive during setup. Giant, Ghost, and Golem all shift to Defence Position as part of their effects, and Gogogo Golem itself resists destruction by battle once per turn while in that position. Gogogo Gigas extends this further by returning from the Graveyard whenever a Gogogo monster is Special Summoned, at the cost of forfeiting the Battle Phase that turn. Gogogo Talisman reinforces this defensive shell by preventing the destruction of an attacking Gogogo monster once per turn and blocking all effect damage while two Gogojos are present.

When the board is established, Gogogo Aristera and Dexia adds a layer of disruption, stripping an opponent's monster of its DEF and locking all Gogogo monsters out of being targeted by attacks or card effects. Gogogo Golem - Golden Form offers a more aggressive pivot, doubling the ATK of the Tributed monster and negating opponent monster effects at the cost of its own ATK, though the halving of battle damage it inflicts means that particular route demands careful timing.
