GMX is an archetype that ties Fusion Summoning to an excavation engine, using cards like GMX Applied Experiment #55 and GMX 55th Experiment Report to dig through the Deck and assemble Dinosaur Fusion Monsters on the fly. GMX Researcher Selande kicks off most openings by Normal Summoning into a free Special Summon of a non-Warrior GMX member or a small Dinosaur, and when she is herself Special Summoned by a monster effect she instead grabs a GMX Spell or Trap from the Deck. GMX Chairman Kimridge can cycle himself away from the hand to fetch Applied Experiment #55 directly, meaning the deck rarely runs dry on its key spell. GMX Partner Selandea adds extension by Special Summoning a Level 4 or lower GMX or Dinosaur from the hand, GY, or banishment the moment she arrives via a monster effect, keeping the material count high enough to satisfy even GMX - COMPREX's requirement of one GMX monster plus two or more Dinosaurs.

The Fusion monsters themselves generate additional pressure beyond raw stats. GMX - VELOX can, on the opponent's turn, excavate into a free GMX or Dinosaur body while simultaneously destroying a targeted card, turning each opponent's summon into a potential minus. GMX - COMPREX scales with the number of Dinosaur materials used and can wipe the rest of the field whenever the excavation engine triggers. Evolved Daneen threads the two halves of the deck together, searching any GMX card on arrival and reviving itself from the GY each time a GMX card excavates. GMX Lab #5 protects each GMX summon from immediate interruption and sets up Spell or Trap access each turn, giving the deck a going-first infrastructure that discourages the opponent from committing to the field freely.
