Playing Style
The Fishborg archetype is a WATER Fish engine built to generate rapid Synchro Summons by recycling low-Level monsters directly from the Graveyard. Fishborg Blaster is the central piece: so long as a Level 3 or lower WATER monster is already on the field, it can discard a card to summon itself from the Graveyard, then immediately pair with that monster as Synchro Material. Because Blaster's self-revival has no hard once-per-turn restriction under the right board conditions, skilled players can chain multiple Synchro Summons in a single turn by keeping low-Level WATER monsters in play as repeated enablers. Fishborg Launcher supports this loop from a different angle, returning from the Graveyard on its own provided every other monster in the GY is also WATER, though it is restricted to WATER Synchro Summons and banishes itself on departure.
The newer members extend the engine's reach into the hand and field. Fishborg Harpooner lets the player reveal itself alongside a WATER monster in hand and immediately deploy one of the two, thinning the hand while putting bodies on board — and when it is sent as Synchro Material for a WATER Synchro Monster, it negates an opposing effect monster until end of turn, giving the deck an interruption it can weave into its combo line. Fishborg Archer recovers from the Graveyard at the cost of discarding a WATER monster during either Main Phase, supplying an extra body when the board is otherwise empty, while Fishborg Doctor and Fishborg Planter offer further Graveyard recursion that keeps the engine turning across multiple turns.
