Playing Style

A board anchored by Teller of Fairy Tails and Weaver of Fairy Tails is what the deck works toward each game. Teller grants all Fairy Tail monsters on the field battle destruction immunity while holding up a hand-trap-style negation that banishes a Fairy Tail card from the hand or GY to negate and destroy any opponent's activated card or effect. Weaver complements that defence by converting opposing Effect Monsters into "Prince of Fairies" tokens whenever a non-EARTH Fairy Tail monster is summoned, which feeds directly into Teller's Fusion Summon trigger — using Prince of Fairies as Fusion material causes Teller to wipe the opponent's field entirely and deal 500 damage per card destroyed.

Reaching that end-board involves a layered set-up across the Spell cards. Fairy Tail Ball provides the Field Spell search on activation and turns every Fairy Tail monster into a direct attacker, while Tails of the Fairy Tails can Fusion Summon mid-Main Phase and recurs itself from the GY to enable follow-up Normal Summons of 1850-ATK Spellcasters, the threshold that Fairy Tail Tales rewards with free additional Normal Summons and damage prevention. Fairy Tail - Matchgiru self-Special Summons whenever a 1850-ATK Spellcaster is present and searches any Fairy Tail Spell or Trap upon arrival, keeping the chain of resources moving.

Fairy Tail - Wiccat binds the Extra Deck together, milling Fairy Tail cards with its detach effect to fuel GY-based plays and returning itself from the GY as a Quick Effect to swap out for a LIGHT Fairy Tail monster — those LIGHT members being untouchable by opponent's activated effects so long as Wiccat remains on the field.
