Evolsaur

Facing an Evolsaur deck, an opponent typically watches their backrow disappear, their monsters get run over by an ever-growing field, and then sees two Xyz monsters staring back at them before they have had a meaningful chance to respond. The deck pairs two distinct halves — the small FIRE Reptile Evoltiles and the larger FIRE Dinosaur Evolsaurs — in a relationship where the former exist almost entirely to bring out the latter. Evoltile Westlo flips face-down, then on resolution Special Summons any Evolsaur directly from the Deck; Evoltile Najasho tributes itself to do the same; and Evo-Force lets the player trade an Evoltile on the field for a free Deck search-and-summon, with the crucial rider that the Evolsaur is treated as having been summoned by an Evoltile effect, triggering its on-summon ability regardless.

Those on-summon effects are where the real pressure comes from. Evolsaur Diplo destroys an opponent's Spell or Trap the moment it arrives, Evolsaur Cerato starts recurring Evoltiles each time it wins a battle, and Evolsaur Vulcano immediately raises a second Evolsaur from the Graveyard, setting up the two-monster board needed to Xyz Summon into the Evolzar monsters the deck is built to access. Evolsaur Lios adds further consistency by searching Evo-Singularity on arrival, while Evo-Singularity itself can convert two Graveyard monsters directly into an Evolzar Xyz without needing anything on the field. The deck strongly favours going first, where its disruption through Evolzar negation can shut down the opponent before they establish momentum.
