Drytron

Meteonis Drytron is the card the deck wants to resolve above all else. Unlike conventional Ritual Spells, it substitutes ATK values rather than Levels when calculating tribute requirements, meaning the Level 1 Drytron monsters — each carrying exactly 2000 ATK — can collectively cover the cost of almost any Ritual Monster in the game regardless of its Level. This quirk allows the deck to Ritual Summon enormous bodies, most commonly the archetype's own boss monsters such as Drytron Meteonis Draconids and Drytron Meteonis DA Draconids, by cycling through the engine's self-replacing pieces rather than consuming Normal Summons.

The engine moves by chaining together the shared tribute effect found on Drytron Alpha Thuban, Beta Rastaban, Zeta Aldhibah, Delta Altais, and Gamma Eltanin. Each of those cards tributes a Drytron or Ritual Monster from hand or field to revive itself from the hand or GY, then generates a bonus — searching a Ritual Monster, recovering banished copies, fetching Meteonis Drytron, drawing a card, or reviving another piece respectively. Drytron Zeta Aldhibah finding Meteonis Drytron, and Alpha Thuban locating the target Ritual Monster, are typically the two searches that close out setup. Drytron Mu Beta Fafnir supports this by detaching its Xyz materials directly as tribute fodder for the Ritual Summon while also sending key cards to the GY and negating Spell/Trap activations mid-combo.

The finished board is built around Ritual Monsters rather than Extra Deck Link or Synchro stacks, which makes Drytron unusually resilient to the hand traps that punish Normal Summon-dependent strategies. Drytron Fafnir protects Meteonis Drytron from negation on activation, and Drytron Meteor Shower punishes the opponent for attempting to establish their own board while a Ritual Monster is present, giving the deck a credible going-first threat that closes off the opponent's development.
