Cubic decks advance through a rigid evolutionary chain of monsters, each one summoning the next link in the sequence. Vijam the Cubic Seed is the starting point: it cannot be destroyed by battle, and after it clashes with an opponent's monster it parks itself in the Spell and Trap Zone as a Continuous Spell, locking the target under a Cubic Counter that negates its effects and prevents it from attacking. From there, a single Vijam on the field allows Dark Garnex the Cubic Beast to be Special Summoned from the hand, which then searches Blade Garoodia the Cubic Beast upon destroying a monster in battle, which in turn fetches Buster Gundil the Cubic Behemoth. Each successive monster requires more Cubic monsters to be sent to the Graveyard as material, stacking the GY for later recovery and building toward Buster Gundil's enormous 3000 ATK and triple-attack capability. Duza the Meteor Cubic Vessel accelerates the whole process by sending any Cubic card from the Deck to the Graveyard on summon, compressing the chain.

The deck also maintains a burn and lockdown angle through Geira Guile the Cubic King and Vulcan Dragni the Cubic King, both of which deal 800 damage on arrival and climb toward Indiora Doom Volt the Cubic Emperor. Crimson Nova the Dark Cubic Lord offers an alternate pressure route, dealing 3000 damage to both players each End Phase while being untouched by monsters with 3000 ATK or less. Cubic Karma accelerates Nova's threat by dumping multiple Vijam copies from the Deck and halving the opponent's life points when Vijam is revived on the opponent's turn. Cubic Mandala and Cubic Causality provide disruption and counter-placement to keep the opponent's board locked down while the chain continues climbing.
