Facing a Celtic Guard deck means staring down a board that keeps replenishing itself. Celtic Guard of Noble Arms is the engine that makes this possible: it Special Summons additional Celtic Guard monsters from the hand each turn, converting what would be a modest collection of Level 4 Warriors into a growing field presence. Once multiple monsters are in play, Noble Arms swings into the opponent directly and draws cards equal to the number of Celtic Guard monsters currently on the field, which in turn fuels further Special Summons on subsequent turns. The deck rewards players who can empty their hand quickly, since Noble Arms cannot attack while holding any cards.

The classic Celtic Guardian fills out the roster as a straightforward Normal Monster, keeping the archetype's requirements easy to meet and its monster count high. Obnoxious Celtic Guard gives the strategy a layer of staying power: it cannot be destroyed in battle by anything with 1900 or more ATK, meaning many common high-ATK monsters simply cannot run it over. This makes it a reliable wall that opponents must answer through non-battle means, buying time for Noble Arms to generate card advantage and push through battle damage. The deck's broader vulnerability is its dependence on hand management — Noble Arms is a strong attacker only once the hand is empty, so drawing too many cards from its own effect can temporarily lock it out of combat until those cards are spent.
