Playing Style

An opponent sitting across from a Buster Blader player watches their entire Extra Deck get locked out before they can use it. Dragon Buster Destruction Sword equips itself to any Buster Blader on the field and, while attached, prevents the opponent from Special Summoning from the Extra Deck entirely. The deck then pushes toward Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman, a Fusion that converts every monster the opponent controls into Dragon-Type through Buster Dragon, gains 1000 ATK and DEF for each Dragon the opponent controls or has in their Graveyard, forces those Dragons into Defence Position, strips them of their effects, and deals piercing damage through whatever they hide behind. The practical result is a board state where the opponent's monsters are neutralised, their Extra Deck is inaccessible, and a high-ATK attacker is punching through their defences for game-ending damage.

Getting there relies on Buster Whelp of the Destruction Swordsman, which searches any Destruction Sword card on Normal Summon and can tribute itself to Special Summon Buster Blader from hand or Graveyard. Prologue of the Destruction Swordsman sends both a Destruction Sword card and a Buster Blader directly from Deck to Graveyard while immediately fielding Buster Dragon, simultaneously filling the Graveyard for Destruction Sword Memories, which can then banish those materials to Fusion Summon the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman without needing cards on hand. Protector Whelp of the Destruction Swordsman adds further consistency by sending a Destruction Sword card from Deck to Graveyard on Link Summon while also deploying a Buster Blader from hand, and at the end of a clear Battle Phase it converts a non-attacking Buster Blader's ATK into direct damage, offering a path to close out games even when the attack route is unavailable.
