Artifact

The Artifact engine rests on a single repeatable trick: loading members of the archetype into the Spell & Trap Zone as pseudo-Spells, then profiting when those Set cards are destroyed during the opponent's turn. Artifact Ignition is the primary enabler, destroying a chosen Spell or Trap on the field and immediately Setting any Artifact monster directly from the Deck in its place. Artifact Sanctum provides a second route, Special Summoning an Artifact directly from the Deck when activated. Once a Set Artifact is destroyed on the opponent's turn, it Special Summons itself and triggers its on-summon effect — Artifact Moralltach destroys a face-up card the opponent controls, Artifact Scythe cuts off their Extra Deck access for the turn, and Artifact Beagalltach can demolish up to two more Set cards, potentially chaining into additional bodies. Artifact Dagda ties the engine together as a Link-2 that Sets another Artifact from hand or Deck whenever any card effect on the field resolves, keeping the supply of facedown threats constant.

With Artifact Caduceus on the field, each Artifact Special Summoned during the opponent's turn generates a draw, turning a defensive chain into meaningful card advantage. Artifact Durendal rewards building a board of Level 5 monsters, converting two of them into an Xyz that can redirect opposing monster and Spell effects or force both players to refresh their hands. Artifact Mjollnir extends the field further by reviving a second Artifact from the Graveyard on its own summon, while Artifact Failnaught recycles fallen members back into the Spell & Trap Zone to reset the loop. The deck therefore tends to favour setting up on the first turn and baiting the opponent into triggering as many summon chains as possible during their own turn rather than pushing through combat immediately.
