Altergeist

Altergeist is a slow-burn trap-heavy control deck that asks very little of its opening hand before it begins generating advantage. A single Normal Summon of Altergeist Marionetter is enough to Set any Altergeist Trap directly from the Deck, and that one Trap activation is all it takes to spring Altergeist Multifaker from the hand, which in turn Special Summons a second Altergeist monster from the Deck. From that two-card sequence the field quickly populates with monsters and face-down Traps, and Personal Spoofing turns surplus hand monsters into a continuous stream of fresh targets.

The deck's preferred position is going first, establishing a backrow of Altergeist Protocol and Altergeist Camouflage before the opponent can act. Protocol prevents the negation of any Altergeist card effect and can tribute a face-up Altergeist to negate an opponent's monster effect outright, while Altergeist Hexstia handles Spell and Trap negation by tributing one of its linked monsters. Altergeist Kunquery adds another defensive layer by Special Summoning itself directly from the hand when an attack is declared, negating it and then immediately locking down one of the opponent's face-up cards.

Recycling keeps the engine running far into the late game. Altergeist Silquitous bounces opposing cards as a Quick Effect at the cost of returning one friendly Altergeist to the hand, and both Primebanshee and Hexstia recover Altergeist cards from the Graveyard when sent off the field. Because almost every Trap the deck uses can later be banished to retrieve another piece from the Graveyard, the resource loop rarely stalls, rewarding patient, reactive play over aggressive board development.
