ABC

The ABC archetype is a Union-based LIGHT Machine strategy whose engine begins with B-Buster Drake. When sent from the field to the graveyard, B-Buster Drake searches any Union monster directly from the deck, which in practice means fetching A-Assault Core or C-Crush Wyvern to complete the trio needed to banish all three and Special Summon ABC-Dragon Buster from the Extra Deck without Polymerization. Union Driver accelerates this process by equipping itself to any face-up monster and then banishing itself to attach a Level 4 or lower Union monster straight from the deck to the same monster, effectively pulling pieces into play without ever needing to normal summon them.

ABC-Dragon Buster is the centrepiece the deck works toward. As a Quick Effect, it discards one card to banish any card on the field, giving the player both a disruption tool on the opponent's turn and a removal outlet on their own. The protective riders inherited from A-Assault Core and B-Buster Drake mean that a monster equipped with them ignores opposing monster and Spell effects respectively, making the path to ABC-Dragon Buster difficult to interrupt mid-combo. Should ABC-Dragon Buster itself be threatened, the pilot can Tribute it during the opponent's turn to revive three banished LIGHT Machine Union monsters, resetting the graveyard and preparing another fusion summon.

For players who also run the X, Y, and Z components, XYZ-Dragon Cannon can be combined with ABC-Dragon Buster to summon A-to-Z-Dragon Buster Cannon, a Level 10 monster that negates and destroys any Spell, Trap, or monster effect by discarding one card, and can later split back into its two components. XYZ Combine extends this line by Special Summoning X, Y, or Z pieces from the deck whenever a LIGHT Machine Union monster is banished, ensuring that the XYZ half of the strategy generates its own momentum rather than competing with the ABC engine for resources.
